Neighbors
Why?
DC Neighbors exists to mobilize and equip our church to declare and demonstrate the gospel to our neighbors in Bryan/College Station. Jesus says the two greatest commandments are to Love God and to Love your Neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:35-40). He models this for us in scripture, and as the Church, we get to extend the work of Jesus and point back to the One who saves. The primary ways that we serve our community are through partnerships with local non-profit organizations, meeting benevolence requests, and supporting foster and adoptive families.
Below, you can learn more about our partners, the heart behind our benevolence processes, and ways to support children and families affected by the child welfare system. Our prayer is that Declaration Church would be on mission as a unified body, showing compassion to the vulnerable, and making Bryan/College Station look more like the Kingdom of God. There are numerous ways for you to get involved in DC Neighbors! Please contact us and we would be more than happy to share more information and help you find a place to serve!
Kemp Pals
The purpose of Kemp Pals is to serve and love the students and teachers of Kemp-Carver Elementary. Through mentorship, we aim to help encourage these students academically as well as relationally. Our hope is to demonstrate the gospel to these students in this school, neighborhood, and community. By being a friend and a mentor to these kids, pursuing them, investing in them, and loving them well, we believe that the Lord will make His name and presence known in this school and community.
Kemp Pals get to be in the classroom where they have the opportunity to love, invest, encourage, and work with students. Activities will vary depending on the grade level and teacher. The time commitment to be a Kemp Pal is one hour a week for a minimum of one school year.
Applications are due 11:59 PMP on September 22, 2024.
